I played records on a massive sound system last weekend, for the first time in approximately 2+ years. Played to an almost empty room but man! I forgot how incredibly fun it is… I don’t know why I ever stopped. Actually scratch that… I had good reasons but in any case it made me realize how much I miss it. I’m totally out of touch now with everything I had built in my 10 years DJing and putting on events, but all I know is I want to play music again and get deep into the beats, and hopefully make some original music of my own. Here’s my first step back into this crazy world, at the suggestion of an old compatriot:
It’ll be a long process, but this device will eventually free me from the burden of a back-breaking record crate and hopefully reduce the encroachment of my substantial record collection on my living space (my wife will be VERY pleased). Laptop DJ’s, I somewhat grudgingly admit, are the way of the future.
