I’m going to be playing a dubstep/techno set at SYZYGY, an event at Cellspace in SF to support the SYZYGRYD project. Friday, June 4th. Should be fun times.
The project is bad ass. Basically it’s a massive fire sculpture that is user-controllable at 3 points. However, there’s more. The control scheme isn’t just a simple push-button-make-fire setup. Rather, it’s 3 stations with a touch-screen display for grid-based/monome-like music creation. The music, in turn, drives the fire according to patterns.
They’re also taking music submissions for inclusion in the sound libraries used in the installation at Burning Man this summer.
